The R33 Skyline, which underwent a full model change on August 19, 1993, was released under the nickname "GT9". The R33 Skyline was developed with the concept of "a mainstream grand touring car with outstanding driving performance", and is a further evolution of the previous R32 series, which was the revival of the Skyline's driving performance. The battery was moved to the trunk to pursue an ideal front-rear weight distribution.
