William Lendrum "Billy" Mitchell was initially a Major General in the US Army. After his retirement in 1926, he played a crucial role in the expansion of the American Air Force until 1936. The twin-engine, medium-weight B-25J bomber was named in his honor. Deployed in the Second World War from 1940 onward, B-25 bombers were used by multiple factions. With 4,318 aircraft produced, the Type J variant was the most widely used bomber in the series.
