TopNotch 72-M041 1/72 P-40 B/C- RAF/AVG Early Camo Masks

Tomahawks supplied to the RAF were Dark Green and Dark Earth. A mirror-image pattern was also applied during 1940. Unlike later larger production batches, the green and brown camouflage colours appear to have been applied without the use of masking mats. Very possibly some kind of template was used to provide chalked lines for the spray painter to follow resulting in a softer, slightly feathered boundary, the contours of which may be observed to vary just slightly from airframe to airframe. A batch in this scheme was diverted to the AVG.
