Artesania Latina 22170 1/50 French Tuna Fishing Boat Marie Jeanne (Wooden kit)

Dedicated to tuna fishing in the months of June to October, this fishing boat came to reach the coast of Mauritania on trips of up to two months as tuna are often far from the coast. Leaving from the French port of Concarneau, the Marie Jeanne sailed between 1900 and 1950. Tuna fishing requires strong and quite fast boats. In the beginning, the ships engaged in these tasks were built for other purposes, generally too heavy. In the late XIX century new types of fishing boats were developed, small and with large sails.
