Mr Black Publications SMH-PG01 Scale Model Handbook: Miniature Modelling Techniques Painting Guide Vol.1 (52 Pages)
This is the first Painting Guide in new series about "Miniature Modelling Techniques" where our aim is to bring a lot of painting and general modelling techniques closer to all modellers, either newcomers or experienced, offering an innovative and essential tool for all.
Each Guide will deal with a specific topic in exquisite detail, offering a lot of different approaches and techniques. We will present and test any material or colour that can be used for military and historical miniatures, and although mainly slanted towards brush painters, we will also have some projects using the airbrush.
MRB goal is to provide the many possible painting solutions, or techniques, mixes for specific colours, using specific items and materials from the participating companies, allowing readers to choose their favourite mediums and companies and use their products in the best possible way.
High quality books have low retail prices and the new series will have two or three books covering each of the three mediums of acrylics, enamels and oils. Of course we will also publish some volumes on: Colour Theory and Application, Painting Systems, How to Use Colour Theory in Hobby Colours and more. Further specific books will cover Flesh and Skin Painting, Eyes, Hair, Wood, Military Uniform Shades, such as Field Grey, Khaki, Olive Green, Napoleonics, Ancients, Medievals and so on The topics are endless and will include WWII Desert Uniforms, Black and White Uniforms, Jungle Uniforms, WWII Camouflage Uniforms, WWI Uniforms and some Fantasy subjects will appear later.
MRB plan, depending on the companies involved, is to publish a number of volumes that will vary from one to three for each topic so as to cover as much as possible.
In this first issue we'll cover the step-by-step painting of a 1/10 scale military bust - "WWII Panzer Commander" produced by Life Miniatures (LM-BS001).
MRB must thank the participating companies who, without their support, this work could not have been realised: AK-Interactive (Fernando Vallejo), Andrea Miniatures (Alexandra Fernandez), Vallejo Acrylics (Alex Vallejo), Scale75 (Jose Mendez), Jo Sonja, Kimera Colors (Luca Marchetti & Pietro Balloni), Lifecolors (Alessandro Balbo & Benedetto Lezzi). Special thanks must go to Sang-Eon Lee of Life Miniatures who provided us with all the necessary material from his tutorial guide on painting so it could be extended and made available in printed form.
