DN Models 48-827-071 1/48 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Yellow Tails Insignia Paint Masks Set
B-17G Flying Fortress Yellow Tails Insignia Paint Mask Set 1/48
Suggested scale: 1/48
Three versions included:
"Fuddy Duddy" - #44-83563 #42-97400 - USAAF 708 BS, 447 BG, 8 AF
"Chuckie" - #44-8543 - USAAF 832BS, 486 BG, 8 AF
"D-Day Doll" - #43-37544 - USAAF 710 BS, 447 BG, 8 AF
Suggested kit: Designed using HK Models #01F001. Suitable for most B-17 Flying Fortress in 48th scale
Re-usable die-cut mask set
The set includes two sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn't leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Yellow Tails
paint mask set is designed to be used with any B-17 Flying Fortress 48th scale kit. The set was created using HK Models #01F001 kit. It is not a limitation though and the masks can be applied on any of the Flying Fortresses on the market today. The set itself is dedicated to /arguably/ the most colourful and vivid line of B-17 Flying Fortresses - the Yellow Tails of the Eighth Air Force - which were used throughout the war in tens, maybe even hundreds of variations. HK Models 32nd scale version of the Flying Fortress includes a version of a Yellow Tailed B-17, but here three different options are presented for their smaller scale option. Alongside with the B-17 Assembly Ship called Spotted Cow, this set give a interesting and alternative paint option for Boeing B-17 fans.
B-17 Flying Fortress
kits available on the market today are many, but the newest addition to the line is HK Models #01F001 - 1/48 B-17G Early version Flying Fortress. This was the kit used for the design of Yellow Tails mask set. The set includes three of the most famous Yellow Tails B-17 aircraft. Those are "Fuddy Duddy", "Chuckie" and "D-Day Doll". HK Models representation of the B-17 is quite accurate, which makes the Yellow Tails insignia and markings usable with other quarter scale models of the Flying Fortress. The set does not include the nose art of the aircraft. Decals should be used for that, since masking is not doable for nose art replication.
